Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinician to join our team at the Dallas County Juvenile Department. As a Clinician, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to youths and families, including assessments, evaluations, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and consultation with staff and the courts.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct individual, group, and family therapy services to youth supervised by the Dallas County Juvenile Department.
- Complete psychological assessments, psychological screens, addendums, family assessments, and sex offender assessments as needed.
- Attend and participate in meetings with psychology staff to aid in the effective provision of clinical services to juvenile department youth and families.
- Conduct on-call emergency services as indicated on the yearly schedule.
- Provide on-site stabilization of youth experiencing a mental-health crisis as needed.
- Serve as a consultant to administration, probation officers, court personnel, education department, attorneys, and institution professionals.
- Provide courtroom testimony as requested by officers of the court.
- Obtain yearly professional development through opportunities offered by the Dallas County Juvenile Department or other approved professional organizations.
- Complete the requirements for independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) within 2 years of employment.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology or a job-related field of study.
- Minimum one (1) year pre-/post-graduate level supervised experience providing psychological services, including psychotherapeutic services.
- Provisional license or position may be underfilled at job grade FM minimum until provisional licensed (passed test) is obtained, not to exceed three (3) years from date of hire.
- Training and experience in administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological assessments is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of standard software applications.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, department, and the general public.
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License, with a good driving record.
- Must pass an extensive background investigation.
- Mandatory drug testing prior to employment and will be subject to random, unannounced drug and/or alcohol testing during employment.
