Toolroom Technician

Job Summary

Mitchell Plastics, a leading manufacturer of automotive interior plastic parts, is seeking a skilled Toolroom Technician to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing our moulds to ensure high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with production staff to service and maintain all moulds, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
2. Assist in the delivery and return of moulds requiring repair or service, and ensure proper storage or machine placement.
3. Work with the Tool Shop Supervisor and Repair Leader to implement preventive maintenance of moulds and maintain accurate documentation.
4. Support the staging, securing, and documentation of moulds for shipping in and out.
5. Provide additional support to Tool Room personnel as needed.
6. Adhere to safe work practices and contribute to a safe working environment.
7. Assist in training production staff on proper tooling maintenance practices.
8. Participate in maintaining a clean and organized work area and Tool Room.
9. Gain knowledge of tool repairs to enhance tool room expertise.

Requirements

1. Basic knowledge of tools and their maintenance.

Preferred Skills

1. Effective communication skills.
2. Understanding of crane and rigging operations.
3. Familiarity with forms governing job functions.
4. Knowledge of key Quality and Environmental Management Systems procedures related to the role.
