Job Summary

The Program Director - Dental Hygiene is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the academic quality of the dental hygiene program at Concorde Career Colleges, Inc. This individual will ensure the effective leadership of the department, faculty, and students, while maintaining compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Set the tone and example for professionalism and conduct among program staff and students
    • Recruit, train, and supervise faculty members to ensure high-quality instruction and student satisfaction
    • Participate in student, campus, and community activities to promote Concorde's mission and values
  • Academic Quality
    • Ensure the academic quality of instruction provided to students
    • Participate in ongoing faculty and professional development activities to enhance teaching and learning
  • Compliance and Accreditation
    • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements
    • Participate in accreditation processes, including self-studies and site visits
  • Student Success
    • Provide support and supervision to ensure programmatic and institutional completion, licensure, and placement outcomes are met
    • Advise and mentor students as needed
  • Operational Management
    • Assist with budgeting and procurement to ensure program needs are met
    • Review and assist with implementation of the Satisfactory Academic Progress process
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience
    • Must have a full-time appointment as defined by the institution, with primary responsibility for operating, supervising, evaluating, and revising the program
    • Must have the authority and responsibility necessary to fulfill program goals, including curriculum development, faculty recruitment and supervision, and budget administration
  • Professional Qualifications
    • Must be a dental hygienist with a graduate degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, or a dentist with a background in education and professional experience
    • Must have current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Knowledge and ability to judge instructors' competence and effectiveness
    • Strong attention to detail and a positive, professional attitude
