POSITION OVERVIEW: The Clinical Faculty specializing in Osteopathic Principles and Practice possesses extensive knowledge and proficiency in the various aspects of Osteopathic Medicine. The selected candidate will engage in educational activities, including serving as a table trainer and delivering lectures to osteopathic medical students in their foundational years.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following academic responsibilities may be assigned to the Clinical Faculty member:
- Act as an instructor and table trainer for the Osteopathic Principles and Practice course;
- Instruct in the Clinical Examination course;
- Facilitate Problem-Based Learning sessions as needed;
- Supervise Simulation Lab activities on an as-needed basis;
- Develop detailed course syllabi that encompass all assignments and readings for laboratory exercises and discussions;
- Participate in the interview process for prospective College of Medicine candidates;
- Serve on various committees and provide guidance to assigned students and student organizations;
- Conduct at least two scholarly activities or research projects annually;
- Create educational materials, including audiovisual aids, demonstration models, and lectures; Prepare engaging demonstrations, lectures, and small group discussions, coordinating with fellow faculty members;
- Design evaluation tools to assess student performance and identify areas for improvement;
- Attend approved meetings that promote professional development;
- Follow directives from the Director of OMM or Vice President;
- Contribute to student success through advising and monitoring outcomes;
- Support the mission of the institution by participating in fundraising efforts and community outreach;
- Engage in scholarly activities to enhance the educational experience of students;
- Represent the institution in community engagements, including board service and fundraising events;
- Maintain availability for instructional duties and clinic development; and
- Accept additional responsibilities as required by the institution.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Candidates must demonstrate the necessary knowledge and capabilities to perform essential job functions effectively.
- Adherence to the AOA code of ethics is mandatory;
- Understanding of medical coding and relevant information in the field;
- Compliance with applicable State and Federal Regulations and Safety Protocols;
- Awareness of student and patient privacy regulations;
- Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and safety protocols;
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in computer applications (MS Office Suite);
- Excellent organizational capabilities;
- Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial;
- Certification in the Institutional Data System is required;
- Ability to maintain a consistent work schedule;
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including tact and diplomacy;
- Strong organizational and planning skills;
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects;
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information;
- Establish and nurture effective working relationships;
- Flexibility to undertake additional duties as needed;
- Ability to collaborate respectfully and collegially with others;
- Commitment to reporting to work as scheduled and dedicating full attention to responsibilities; and
- Willingness to accept guidance from supervisors in a cooperative manner.
Education and experience equivalent to a D.O. degree is required, along with teaching experience in an academic setting, ideally with two to five years of practice experience. Special certification in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine is not mandatory, and individual faculty review sessions will be available upon request. Candidates must possess or be eligible for a Pennsylvania medical license.
