Job Summary

Summit Medical Group is seeking an experienced Medical Support Specialist to join their team. As a Clinical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical staff in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations and procedures according to physician preferences.
  • Record vital signs of patients, including pulse, blood pressure, height, etc.
  • Perform appropriate procedures, such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, holter monitors, etc.
  • Assist physicians with procedures, administer medications, and conduct patient education.
  • Handle phone nursing duties, including triaging, pre-certs, referrals, and calling in prescriptions.
  • Perform clerical duties necessary for physicians to see patients, including contacting patients regarding test results.
  • Schedule patient appointments with efficient use of clinical time slots.
  • Maintain stocked, neat, and clean exam rooms and common work areas on a daily basis.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited program in practical nursing or medical assisting.
  • Current TN license in Practical Nursing or Nationally Certified in Medical Assisting, or Emergency Medical Technician license required.
  • Prefer one year of experience in a medical office setting.
