Role Summary: The Senior Art Instructor will leverage their artistic skills and passions in various visual art forms, including acrylic painting, watercolor, oil pastels, mixed media, woodworking, crafting, upcycling, and textiles. This role involves designing and leading interactive, instruction-based classes that incorporate contemporary trends and techniques to stimulate creativity, enhance social skills, alleviate feelings of depression, boost self-esteem, and foster an inclusive community.

Key Responsibilities:

Engagement:

  • Design and deliver classes that reflect your unique artistic talents and interests.
  • Motivate participants to learn new skills and adapt classes to meet individual needs.
  • Contribute to the creation of care plans and maintain progress documentation.

Support:

  • Assist participants with restroom needs, providing verbal cues or physical support as necessary.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions for members between classes throughout the day.
  • Welcome and assist members upon their arrival and departure.
  • Help prepare and serve meals and snacks.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated talents and interests in one or more visual art disciplines.
  • A genuine passion for teaching in both group and individual settings.
  • A vibrant, engaging, and charismatic personality.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective organizational and self-management abilities to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Proficient planning, execution, and problem-solving skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess current DPS clearance and successfully pass a background check.
  • A collaborative team player.
