Overview

Carpenter Co. is seeking a skilled CDL Driver to join our team at our EPS Lakeland, FL manufacturing location. As a CDL Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering finished products to customers at various locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with multiple levels of Company personnel and external customers on a daily basis.
  • Perform work in a Company truck with exposure to weather conditions and various customer locations.
  • Deliver products on time while complying with state and Federal laws and regulations, such as DOT regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of driving experience and product delivery required.
  • Possess and maintain a valid CDL driver's license.
  • Previous employment checks must be acceptable.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and call-in with little notice.
  • Maintain a clean MVR within Company guidelines.

Essential Functions

  • Receive and understand instructions from Dispatchers, Shipping Supervisors, and external customers.
  • Maintain the highest level of respect for customers and meet their needs.
  • Communicate and relay information to others.
  • Properly follow administrative procedures regarding billing and manifest paperwork.
  • Transport and deliver materials and services per customer requirements.
  • Know, understand, and maintain compliance to all State and Federal DOT rules and regulations.
  • Report conditions that may affect the operations of the trucks and trailers.
  • Maintain accurate DOT Logs.
  • Deliver product as scheduled.
  • Assist in loading and unloading.
  • Lift more than 75 lbs.
  • Perform checks on equipment and/or vehicle used at start, during, and end of use.
  • Fuel and check equipment's fluid levels.
  • Note any errors or customer concerns to Company management as soon as practical.
