Aviation Security Officer Trainer

Join the City of Chicago as an Aviation Security Officer Trainer and play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our airports.
Job Summary:The Aviation Security Officer Trainer will be responsible for training and developing the skills of security staff assigned to O'Hare and Midway Airports. This includes facilitating training instruction within established Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and departmental guidelines and standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver training programs for security staff
- Conduct training analyses, assessments and assist in the preparation of new and refresher training materials
- Administer examinations, score tests, and evaluate trainees to ensure performance and training requirements are met
- Observe and evaluate the performance of personnel assigned to the training program
- Conduct refresher and re-training sessions
- Creates and maintains electronic training records, statistical and ad hoc training reports
- Instructs staff on report writing, crowd, and traffic control techniques
- Coordinates, schedules, and facilitates continuing education training sessions
- Maintains training material library
- Keeps current on developments in training methodology and security issues in the aviation industry
- Three (3) years of work experience as an Aviation Security Officer with the City of Chicago
- Valid State of Illinois driver's license
- Must be 21 years of age at the time of employment
