Job Summary:

The Staff Physical Therapist will review patient charts, perform initial assessments, develop treatment plans, administer physical therapy treatments and modalities, monitor progress, and document treatments performed with patients to increase overall functioning, reduce discomfort, and achieve medical and therapeutic goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate patient status to referring physicians and other healthcare team members.
  • Develop and modify treatment plans based on patient response and changes in patient status.
  • Supervise physical therapist assistants in the treatment of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Maintain professional licensure through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs.
  • Document all physical therapy services rendered, including initial assessments, follow-up visits, and discharge summaries.
  • Complete necessary charge and statistical information to accurately reflect services rendered.
  • Provide verbal and written home instructions to patients and family members when applicable.
  • Schedule patients to achieve and maintain productivity standards while ensuring delivery of quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Active licensure in the practicing state.
  • CPR certification based on AHA standards.
  • Clearances dated within 90 days.
