Communications Systems Engineer
to enhance our team.
As a Communications Systems Engineer, you will contribute to the Communications Engineering Center, focusing on:
designing, estimating costs, scheduling, engineering, coordinating, overseeing installations, inspecting, and executing communication systems for diverse structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and design plans for the replacement and modification of communication antenna towers, site work, and radio and fiber optics systems for various facilities.
- Conduct on-site assessments to create detailed, scaled designs and comprehensive reports.
- Generate construction drawings and specifications that accurately depict the proposed installations in compliance with governmental standards.
- Facilitate design review and Operational Risk Management meetings.
- Maintain the Air to Ground Site Survey Database Document.
- Complete the Site Requirement Form (SFR).
- Review project deliverables and communicate findings effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and other personnel to troubleshoot design or implementation issues.
- Coordinate design elements with a multidisciplinary team.
- Execute project management tasks, including safety plans, work sequencing, and cutover plans.
- Independently create and manage Integrated Risk Management Checklists (IRMC), communication plans, and project risk registers.
- Oversee the completion of necessary EOSH work permits for construction, considering potential hazards.
- Participate in meetings, including preconstruction and on-site construction discussions, to align civil engineering projects with ongoing initiatives.
- Review contractor design and construction submissions.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate installation activities to achieve project milestones, collaborating directly with stakeholders and contractors.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
- A minimum of four years of experience in communication system design, modeling, and simulation of network components.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and engineering scheduling tools, along with effective internet usage for communication and research.
- Expertise in AUTOCAD and MICROSTATION.
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Capability to maintain organized electronic project documentation related to site preparation and equipment installation.
- Ability to provide technical support and recommendations for resolving construction-related issues.
