Auburn Athletics is seeking a highly skilled Lifeguard to ensure the safety of pool patrons at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the safety of pool users, responding to emergencies, and assisting with operational duties such as guest check-in, event setup, and clean-up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the safety of pool patrons and respond to emergencies
  • Assist with event setup, breakdown, and clean-up
  • Perform light custodial duties
  • Check-in members and guests
Requirements
  • Enrolled student at Auburn University
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous lifeguarding experience
  • Ability to work early mornings, nights, weekends, summers, and holiday breaks
Working Conditions

The James E. Martin Aquatics Center is a state-of-the-art facility that houses an Olympic-size pool with three moveable bulkheads. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to swim 500 yards, treat water with a diving brick for 1 minute, and retrieve an object from the bottom of the diving well.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $10.00. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, build their network, and make a difference in the Auburn community.
