Job Summary

This is a full-time and PRN opportunity available. As a Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician, you will optimize patient safety with minimal medical/health care errors in a laboratory environment. You will verify questionable results or samples and repeat procedures as necessary.

About the Role
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of Opelousas General Health System.
  • Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids to determine presence of normal and abnormal components.
  • Analyze laboratory findings to check accuracy of results.
  • Enter data from analysis of medical tests and clinical results into computer for storage.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment used in quantitative and qualitative analysis and computer-controlled analyzers.
  • Establish and monitor quality assurance programs and activities to ensure accuracy of laboratory results.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Associates degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological science required. Bachelor's degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological science preferred.
  • Certification: LSBME license required.

Compensation and Benefits
