Underground Pipefitter

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Underground Pipefitter to join our team for various projects in the Hollywood and Boca Raton areas of Florida.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining underground ductile iron piping systems. This includes laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping and piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems.

• Laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping and piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and equipment
• Selecting size and type of pipe and related material and equipment according to job specifications
• Inspecting work sites to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that holes will not cause structural weakness
• Cutting, threading, and bending pipe
• Maintaining refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls, and piping
• Testing piping systems for leaks
• Performing minor maintenance, cleaning tools and equipment

• 1-4 years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Written pre-employment qualification test

• Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces
• Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials

• Location: Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop
• Predominantly outdoor climate
• May be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather
• Excessive humidity, rain, etc.
