Job Overview

PRIMARY ROLE:

The main responsibility is to execute tasks related to thermal processing and quality assurance. This includes loading and unloading furnaces and aging ovens, as well as managing incoming and outgoing inventory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ensure adherence to corporate standards within the designated area of expertise.

· Implement total quality philosophy and utilize quality control techniques, including statistical problem-solving and customer service.

· Identify and pursue ongoing training necessary for maintaining high-quality performance in this role.

· Follow all procedures related to thermal processing, quality assurance, and handling of certified and non-certified products.

· Understand and utilize all relevant manuals, process documentation, and software related to thermal processing, quality assurance, and logistics.

· Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

· Uphold general housekeeping standards.

· Foster a positive work environment and maintain team morale.

· Communicate effectively and collaborate within a team setting.

· Attend required training sessions.

· Be available for various shifts and on-call duties as needed.

FURNACE OPERATOR/INSPECTOR DUTIES:

· Load and unload all thermal processing equipment.

· Process materials according to established methods.

· Monitor temperature controls and take corrective actions as necessary.

· Maintain shift logs and relevant databases.

· Oversee quench water levels and temperatures.

· Complete shift changeover procedures thoroughly, including checklists.

· Identify, tag, and report nonconforming materials in accordance with quality protocols.

· Inspect materials at various stages to ensure compliance with specifications.

· Document material compliance and direct it to the appropriate processing area.

· Ensure accuracy in documentation related to material requirements.

· Execute start-up and shut-down procedures efficiently.

· Set up and monitor temperature controls for in-load thermocouples and equipment.

· Address customer service responsibilities related to production.

· Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage and assist with inventory counts.

· Ensure process certifications are completed as directed by quality assurance.

· Tag new or specially packaged materials with appropriate handling instructions.

LOGISTICS RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ensure accuracy in shipping and receiving documentation.

· Enter data from shipping and receiving documents into the database.

· Perform loading and unloading of transport vehicles.

· Prepare shipments accurately.

· Create bills of lading using both automated and manual systems.

· Conduct necessary documentation, product inspections, and verify piece counts.

· Execute physical inventory procedures for both customer products and company supplies.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Flexibility in working hours is essential.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

· Strong decision-making skills using logical reasoning.

· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Commitment to achieving company goals and objectives.

EDUCATION:

· High school diploma or GED is required.

· General experience with forklifts is preferred.
