About the Role


We are seeking a skilled Culinary Care Specialist to join our team at KinderCare Learning Companies.


Responsibilities



  • Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to strict food safety guidelines.
  • Prepare healthy and nutritious meals for our children, following a menu developed by our in-house nutritionist.
  • Order food and supplies in a timely manner, ensuring that our centers are always well-stocked.
  • Dispense and store medication, as requested, and complete accurate documentation according to KinderCare and other licensing or regulation requirements.
  • Assist with daily center duties, as needed, and support the success of our centers by partnering with staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.

Requirements



  • Familiarity with accurate food storage and handling practices, including methods for avoiding food cross-contamination.
  • Ability to follow menus and prepare sufficient quantities of food for our centers.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating serving portions.
  • Possession of a Food Handler's License or willingness to obtain.
  • At least one year of institutional cooking experience, with food ordering experience highly desirable.
  • Two or more years working with children, highly desirable.
  • Physical ability to use a computer with basic proficiency and lift up to 40 pounds, as required.
  • Excellent communication skills, including reading, writing, understanding, and speaking English.
