  • A leading quaternary care institution featuring 547 licensed beds, a Level I Trauma Center, a nationally recognized Burn Center, and a prestigious Transplant Center, along with a dedicated 20-bed unit for stem cell transplant patients. This facility excels in providing comprehensive hospital care across various medical specialties, including orthopedics, nephrology, cardiology, oncology, ophthalmology, and surgical services.

Position Overview:
  • The selected candidate will become part of a dynamic Radiology Department comprising over 50 subspecialized radiologists, supporting a wide range of clinical services and affiliated outpatient care centers.
  • Candidates are required to be Board Certified in Radiology and fellowship-trained in Musculoskeletal Radiology (MSK).
  • Strong clinical acumen is essential for effective and efficient operation across the complete range of imaging modalities and procedures pertinent to MSK imaging.
  • This role necessitates on-site presence with involvement in interventional procedures, including MRI, CT, joint injections/aspirations, bone marrow sampling, and soft tissue/bone biopsies.
  • The practice environment is hospital-based.
  • RVU expectations apply.
  • Workload distribution: 5-90% plain film, 10-15% CT/MR.
  • Call responsibilities include: Weekday call from 4pm-11pm from home (with no day shifts on those days), averaging once a week, and weekend call approximately 7 times per year.
  • Evening shift and weekend call duties can be managed remotely from home, utilizing fully functional PACS and voice recognition systems.
  • A strong commitment to clinical and formal resident education is highly valued.
  • Average daily case volume includes a mix of plain film and cross-sectional imaging: approximately 110 X-rays, 20 MRIs/CTs/Ultrasounds.
  • Number of Radiologists specializing in MSK: approximately 4.8 FTEs, with a total department strength of 41 FTEs.
  • Teleradiology is not utilized for MSK services.
  • Patient demographic encompasses all age groups, with no pediatric cases required.
  • Opportunities for clinical and translational research are available for interested candidates.
  • Consideration for the role of Section Chief may be offered to suitable candidates.
  • EMR systems in use include Epic, Powerscribe 360, Interad PACs, and Softek Illuminate.
  • Credentialing typically takes 2-3 months, contingent on whether the physician possesses an Illinois license.
