Job Summary

The Allergy Nurse - Chronic Care Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing principles, with a focus on chronic allergic conditions.

Key Responsibilities

- Room patients, take histories, and vital signs
- Carry out orders from physicians for specialized diagnostic procedures, including skin testing, intradermal testing, skin patch testing, pulmonary function testing, and exercise treadmill testing
- Administer food and drug challenges, and closely monitor patients for risk associated with procedures
- Manage systemic reactions in the office
- Provide administrative support, including answering patient phone calls, reordering medications, and setting up deliveries for biologic medications

Requirements

- Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing; RN with ADN or BSN
- One year of nursing experience, preferably inpatient or outpatient
- Unrestricted Licensed RN in the state of Illinois
- BLS Certification required
- Certification in Asthma Education by the National Asthma Educator Certification Board, preferred
