Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

The Nurse Resident is a Registered Nurse (RN) who serves as a leader of the healthcare team at UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper. This role involves establishing a personalized relationship with patients and their support systems, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care that promote optimal health or support a peaceful death.
Responsibilities- Acts with patient advocacy when implementing the interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Collaborates with healthcare team to educate patients and their support systems.
- Analyzes, modifies, and implements strategies to progress patients through their plans of care.
- Ensures completion of nursing interventions, medical orders, and other related therapies.
- Prioritizes job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and successful completion of the NCLEX required.
- 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current RN licensure in applicable state required.
The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment.
