Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team at The Leona Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing speech therapy services to students with communication disorders, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen, assess, and identify students with communication disorders that adversely affect their educational progress.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on established IEP goals and objectives.
  • Provide direct and indirect services to students in their educational setting.
  • Assess and diagnose communication disorders, including speech sound production and use, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, and oral motor skills.
  • Develop and maintain a positive therapeutic atmosphere, establish rapport with students and families, and communicate effectively with other professionals.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and evaluations, and participate in IEP meetings and other related meetings.
  • Stay current with instructional and technological advances in speech-language therapy, and participate in professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • A Clinical Fellowship (CFY) will be considered, or a teaching certificate with an endorsement in speech pathology, or a Certificate of Clinical Competency in speech pathology, or a master's degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited program.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of speech-language therapy, training and supervising staff, and methods and procedures for assessment and treatment of communication disorders.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively provide speech-language therapy to eligible students, develop and evaluate treatment plans, and communicate and work effectively with families and other professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of prior experience in speech-language therapy.
