Spee-Dee Delivery Service, Inc is seeking a skilled and reliable Route Driver to join our team. As a Route Driver, you will be responsible for delivering and picking up freight in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining a safe and efficient delivery process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and pick up freight from customers and shippers in a timely and efficient manner
  • Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
  • Load the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages
  • Collect payments for certain packages delivered
  • Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
  • Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
  • Maintain professional personal appearance and cleanliness of vehicle
  • Assist other drivers and operations personnel with duties as needed
Requirements:
  • At least 21 years of age and hold a valid Driver's License
  • A good driving record which meets company standards
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission or have the willingness to learn
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
  • Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
  • Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work with all types of freight including hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
  • Possess good customer service and can work independently
