Quality Engineer Job Description

ATSC IES INC is seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our team. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality objectives and performance metrics for all phases of projects
  • Ensure compliance to customer product, process, and quality requirements
  • Develop, track, trend, and report quality objectives and performance metrics
  • Promote performance improvement throughout the organization
  • Determine relevant quality-associated training requirements and deliver training
  • Establish a process to communicate items of concern to Management
  • Establish and document QC practices, policies, and implementation processes for all assigned projects
  • Maintain procedures for the identification, segregation, and disposition of non-conforming materials
  • Perform AS9100 Lead audit activities
  • Establish, track, trend, and maintain post-market quality processes and events
  • Be the focal POC for ensuring compliance with Contract requirements for quality and conformance
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in quality engineering or technical degree preferred
  • 3+ years of documented experience in QA and/or QC engineering positions
  • QE experience in the Aerospace industries preferred, construction experience is a plus
  • AS9100D Internal Certified Auditor
  • Experience in developing audit programs that satisfy contract requirements
  • Must be able to develop Manufacturing QA Processes and Control plans
  • Must be able to document and maintain Design and Development processes
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience of reviewing, tracking, trending, and initiating corrective action from Post Market Quality data
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Quality Supply Chain Management
  • Must have a hands-on approach for testing, including some assembly and disassembly of tested units
  • Strong background in Corrective/Preventive Action investigation, verification, and closure
  • Familiarity with Government Contracts, FAR requirements, and DOD quality system requirements a plus
  • Extensive background in developing and implementing a quality control process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, Access, Vizio, Power Point, and Project
  • Must have previous experience in the review and assessment of quality contractual requirements
  • Must have a high level of awareness and ability to pay attention to detail
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter that can fully complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to multi-task to ensure all organizations and processes are quality system compliant
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and basic work instructions
Work Environment:

Work may be performed outside in hot and/or cold desert environments or inclement weather conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear, and see (must be able to stand for long periods of time)

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds during the course of the workday

Personal protective equipment is required when performing work including hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required

Must be able to read, write, and speak English
