Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Sunoco. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing problems on major components and systems of heavy trucks and trailers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and Troubleshoot: Identify and resolve problems with major components, including diesel engines, brake systems, transmissions, air systems, differentials, and electrical systems.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repair work on tractors, trailers, and straight trucks, including brakes, cab, engine, fifth wheel, transmission, delivery equipment, suspensions, AC and air systems, clutch, tires/axles/wheels.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance services and repair work.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other technicians and support staff to ensure efficient and effective maintenance and repair operations.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in heavy truck and trailer maintenance and repair.
- Certifications: Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required (must agree to obtain within one year of hire date).
