Key Responsibilities
  • Process benefit applications and interview applicants to determine eligibility for assistance.
  • Explain benefit programs and assist applicants in completing necessary forms.
  • Maintain accurate records and verify the completeness and accuracy of information received from applicants.
  • Communicate with clients regarding case information, status, or related activities.
  • Plan, organize, and manage assigned caseloads, establishing priorities and scheduling appointments.
  • Prepare forms and documentation needed to evaluate and process cases.
  • Determine the amount and type of assistance clients may be eligible to receive.
  • Identify possible fraud and make appropriate referrals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Services, Sociology, Human Services, or a closely related field.
  • One year of previous experience and/or training involving public assistance program administration, program eligibility evaluation, social work, customer interaction, and personal computer operations.
