Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees production schedules and prioritizes sheeting requests; interprets sheeting orders.
- Modifies machinery settings for cutting, slitting, and quantity based on job specifications; adjusts roll stands, conveyor belts, and delivery systems.
- Inspects for accurate dimensions and alignment, assesses cut quality, and identifies defects such as up curl/down curl or surface checking.
- Logs rolls into the sheeting management system, processes documentation, and generates load tags and skid reports, while maintaining daily labor records.
- Evaluates the feasibility of extending production runs beyond the initial request.
- Ensures the machine is prepared with rolls for upcoming tasks.
- Conducts routine maintenance on the sheeter and maintains a clean workspace.
- Performs additional repairs and maintenance as required.
- Provides training to other material handlers and novice sheeter operators as necessary.
Qualifications:
- General understanding of sheeting processes and paper handling, along with the skills to execute related tasks.
- Proficient with computer systems – will utilize sheeting management software and machine interfaces.
- Capable of reading and comprehending documents such as job orders.
- Adept at performing mathematical calculations and applying concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Ability to follow instructions and address issues in typical scenarios.
- Must possess the capability to operate a forklift and clamp truck.
- Ability to remain active throughout the day, including walking or standing, and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
