The hospital offers a number of specialty services including advanced cardiac care, from minimally invasive heart procedures to heart transplantation, complex GI services, kidney and liver transplantation, weight loss surgery, advanced stroke care, robotic surgery, and many other services.

Job Summary

The Surgical Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides care to patients pre and post spine, ortho, and abdominal surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
  • Nursing Diploma or ASN required.
