We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Accountant to join our team at Ventura County. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our organization, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to our leadership team.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to inform business decisions.
- Manage and supervise a team of accountants and financial analysts to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and laws, and ensure compliance with all relevant requirements.
- Master's degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA certification or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
