Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Coding Specialist to join our team at Mercy Health. As a Medical Coding Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze medical records to assign accurate codes and diagnoses
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate coding and documentation
  • Develop and implement efficient coding processes to improve productivity and reduce errors
  • Stay up-to-date on applicable regulations, laws, and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Provide education and training to healthcare providers on coding and documentation best practices
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Prefer one year of experience coding professional services or two years in the medical field
  • Post high school course in medical terminology is preferred
  • Certified Professional Coder-Apprentice (CPC-A) or other equivalent coding certification preferred
Work Environment
