Key Responsibilities- Manage department staff, including scheduling, timecard oversight, and performance evaluations.
- Serve as a resource person for shift members to build a stronger core staff.
- Recognize and address staff needs, providing assistance or delegating tasks to ensure timely patient care and safety.
- Address patient, family, nursing, or physician concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Welcome new hires, participate in precepting, and engage in ongoing continued education of staff as needed.
- Assess patient home environments and advise on adaptive equipment or techniques to aid daily activities.
- Educate patients on compensatory strategies for memory, communication, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Help patients participate in everyday activities based on their unique circumstances.
- Review patient progress, update plans of care, and set goals.
- Perform administrative tasks, including documentation, interdisciplinary care conferences, and equipment recommendations.
- Participate in quality performance and improvement programs related to therapy measures.
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
- Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience in a clinical setting (preferably in a hospital setting).
- Minimum 1 year of management/supervisory experience (3-5 years preferred).
- Active and unrestricted MO state licensure in Physical Therapy.
- Active BLS certification preferred (classes available).
- Therapy skills and knowledge.
- Empathy, compassion, and patience.
- Communication skills (verbal, written) and critical thinking.
- Leadership, relationship building, coaching, training.
- Excellent human relations, organizational, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Experience with Electronic Health Management Record systems.
- Passion for continuously improving and providing high-quality care and service with excellence to patients, families, employees, and physicians.
