Position: Certified Surgical Technologist

At UMC Health System, we are seeking skilled Certified Surgical Technologists to enhance our dedicated surgical team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our cardiovascular surgeries.

Position Overview:

• Available roles within the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Shifts are 10 hours long with a rotation of days off and on-call responsibilities
• Attractive Sign-On Bonus of $15,000
• Relocation Bonus of $3,000 for candidates relocating over 75 miles
• Key responsibilities include managing, coordinating, and executing tasks related to surgical instruments, sterilization, and supplies in the operating theater

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the surgical environment for procedures
• Assist surgeons throughout surgical interventions
• Manage inventory and ensure sterilization of surgical tools
• Maintain an adequate supply of necessary materials
• Perform additional tasks as required in the surgical setting

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist training program

Licensure and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong understanding of clinical practices and standards in surgical technology
• Exceptional manual dexterity
• Strong communication abilities
• Attention to detail and precision
• Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and priorities

Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, with significant walking and prolonged standing involved.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a high-risk environment with potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens and biohazard materials.
