Human Resources Generalist

The South Peninsula Hospital is seeking a skilled Recruiter to join our Human Resources team. As a Recruiter, you will be responsible for delivering all facets of recruitment success throughout the organization. This includes collaborating with managers to anticipate and meet the evolving recruitment needs of the hospital, playing a critical role in hiring the best possible talent for the organization, and nurturing and developing relationships with prospective talent and managing ongoing relationships with hiring managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview, and select top talent for various positions within the hospital.
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to meet the hospital's evolving needs.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs and provide guidance on the recruitment process.
- Manage the recruitment lifecycle process, including sourcing resumes from all sources, and working with search firms and job boards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including those related to collective bargaining agreements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, business, or a related field. Two years of previous staffing/recruiting experience required.
- Clear understanding of the recruitment lifecycle process and experience in mapping and sourcing resumes from all sources.
- Strong vendor manager skills related to recruitment activities, such as search firms and job boards.
- Previous experience with a collective bargaining agreement, preferred.
- PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification required within two years of employment.
Work Environment:
The South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed acute care hospital and 28-bed long-term care facility located in South-Central Alaska. The working environment is pleasant, clean, and well-maintained. The position requires a moderate amount of mobility, as well as the ability to reason, speak, and have basic manual dexterity. There is a need to attend meetings and classes both inside and outside of the hospital setting and to participate in interviews or provide training within the hospital building. Physical demands are moderate and may include sitting, standing for prolonged periods, walking, stooping, and occasional lifting.
