The Pharmacy Technician II, Health Systems Pharmacy provides critical support to the Pharmacist in the daily operations of the pharmacy. Key responsibilities include assisting pharmacists in filling prescription orders, preparing medication for dispensing, packaging, and shipment, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
- Prepare medication for dispensing, packaging, and shipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including taking inventory, placing orders, checking in drugs and supplies, and stocking shelves.
- Enter medical supply orders into the pharmacy system.
- Communicate effectively with customers, including patients, clinics, caregivers, and physicians.
- Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
- Input patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
- Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
- National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) preferred.
- IV experience preferred.
- In-patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Flexibility in working schedule.
- Ability to work in a group.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
