Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Therapist to join our team at The South Suburban Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse. As a key member of our treatment team, you will provide quality care to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to patients
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Health or related field
  • Associate Degree and CADC certification or Associate Degree and one year of substance use disorder treatment experience
  • Valid driver's license and minimal auto insurance

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Good organizational skills and ability to use logical thinking to solve problems
  • Good short-term memory, verbal communication skills, and ability to provide and follow effective written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to effectively monitor and develop subordinates when applicable
  • Ability to successfully complete training and perform C.P.R.
