We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Airport Firefighter to join our team at Global Medical Response Inc. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for providing fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services to protect life and property.

• Fire Suppression and Rescue
  • Respond to emergency fire alarms and assist in the suppression of structural, residential, commercial, industrial, chemical, petroleum, vehicle, aircraft, and Wildland fires.
  • Operate various pieces of fire equipment and gear for fire suppression and control, including driving and operating fire apparatus.
  • Search and rescue operations, ventilation, and salvage operations.
• Emergency Medical Services
  • Respond to emergency medical calls and evaluate situations to provide emergency and non-emergency medical procedures.
  • Transfer patients to medical facilities and provide written reports detailing patient care.
• Customer Service and Communication
  • Conduct fire safety, home safety, fire extinguisher, and pre-fire planning inspections.
  • Provide information to the public, install smoke detectors, conduct station tours, visit schools, and participate in public education standbys.
  • Work involves serving the public and cooperative/supportive interaction with co-workers, supervisors, doctors, and other healthcare workers.
• Maintenance and Compliance
  • Conduct daily and weekly vehicle and equipment inspections as assigned.
  • Ensure all vehicle and equipment discrepancies are documented and reported to the on-duty Fire Captain.
  • Perform daily maintenance of facilities by cleaning, inspecting, and any other facility maintenance deemed necessary.
  • Reviews paperwork for accuracy and correct process.
  • Participate in scheduled and unscheduled onsite compliance audits.
  Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • State issued, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (ProBoard) certifications as a minimum: Firefighter I, Hazardous Materials-Operations.
  • If assigned to an airport operation - State, IFSAC, ProBoard or FAA (FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION) Airport Firefighter certification.
  • State issued or National Registered EMT-B.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Valid driver license with acceptable driving record in accordance with Rural/Metro policy.
  • Able to work any assigned shift, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Available to work overtime as assigned and as needed on an emergency basis.
