We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Airport Firefighter to join our team at Global Medical Response Inc. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for providing fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services to protect life and property.
Key Responsibilities- Fire Suppression and Rescue
- Respond to emergency fire alarms and assist in the suppression of structural, residential, commercial, industrial, chemical, petroleum, vehicle, aircraft, and Wildland fires.
- Operate various pieces of fire equipment and gear for fire suppression and control, including driving and operating fire apparatus.
- Search and rescue operations, ventilation, and salvage operations.
- Emergency Medical Services
- Respond to emergency medical calls and evaluate situations to provide emergency and non-emergency medical procedures.
- Transfer patients to medical facilities and provide written reports detailing patient care.
- Customer Service and Communication
- Conduct fire safety, home safety, fire extinguisher, and pre-fire planning inspections.
- Provide information to the public, install smoke detectors, conduct station tours, visit schools, and participate in public education standbys.
- Work involves serving the public and cooperative/supportive interaction with co-workers, supervisors, doctors, and other healthcare workers.
- Maintenance and Compliance
- Conduct daily and weekly vehicle and equipment inspections as assigned.
- Ensure all vehicle and equipment discrepancies are documented and reported to the on-duty Fire Captain.
- Perform daily maintenance of facilities by cleaning, inspecting, and any other facility maintenance deemed necessary.
- Reviews paperwork for accuracy and correct process.
- Participate in scheduled and unscheduled onsite compliance audits.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- State issued, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (ProBoard) certifications as a minimum: Firefighter I, Hazardous Materials-Operations.
- If assigned to an airport operation - State, IFSAC, ProBoard or FAA (FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION) Airport Firefighter certification.
- State issued or National Registered EMT-B.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Valid driver license with acceptable driving record in accordance with Rural/Metro policy.
- Able to work any assigned shift, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Available to work overtime as assigned and as needed on an emergency basis.
