HVAC Technician

Malace HR is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team in Mitchel Field, NY.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced HVAC Technician to provide quality workmanship and high work standards to maintain a professional working environment. The successful candidate will report daily to the customer Facility Manager and support him/her to provide service and feedback to the customer on any HVAC system or building operation concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Communicate effectively with the client Facility Manager to determine service needs and report any operational concerns.
• Perform HVAC maintenance and repair skills, including PM, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to equipment as required.
• Conduct general maintenance activities, including cleaning, table/chair set ups, sign making, and assisting other technicians.
• Perform minor electrical work, including replacing light bulbs, ballast, and lenses.
• Perform a wide variety of corrective maintenance work requests, including replacing floor tiles, carpet tiles, ceiling tiles, sheetrock, spackling, painting, and repairing furniture.
• Perform preventive maintenance on select equipment, including hydraulic shear, water filtration replacement, and hazmat material collection.
• Assist the team in maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting HVAC heating, ventilating, air conditioning, air handling units, and general maintenance issues.

Requirements:

• HS Diploma
• 2-4 years of experience related to HVAC and overall facility maintenance
• Valid US driver's license
• Active Security Clearance or ability to obtain
• EPA approved CFC certification
• Journeymen license preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-2 years' experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Knowledge and operational understanding of various types of HVAC equipment and normal building operations
