Plastic Extrusion Technician

Position Summary: Responsible for operating extrusion machinery that applies coatings to conductors through a curing process and prepares them for packaging.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and execute all tasks in accordance with Job Safety Practices (JSP).
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a tidy work environment.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Follow operational instructions meticulously.
• Monitor and adjust machine settings to optimize production factors.
• Initiate machine operations and implement corrective measures as necessary.
• Conduct quality assessments on wire products.
• Adjust machine configurations based on Work Orders.
• Utilize the HFA program for data recording.
• Maintain precise records on quality logs and production metrics.
• Proactively address potential nonconformities.
• May be required to work outside of standard hours.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Effective verbal communication skills suitable for a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to make informed decisions to enhance equipment performance.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documentation.
• Skilled in planning and prioritizing tasks effectively.

Educational Background: High School diploma or GED is preferred. Proficient in mathematics and reading comprehension. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Vision corrected to 20/20.
• Able to accurately distinguish colors.
• Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent handling of medium to large-sized objects.
• Ability to react swiftly and move with agility.
• Frequent climbing of stairs and ladders.
