Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Ochsner LSU Health System. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to patients, working under the supervision of a registered nurse. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the highest quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to patients, including administering medications, performing vital signs, and documenting patient information.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Assist with procedures, such as IV therapy, and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Current LPN license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • IV therapy credentials.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal and delegation skills.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. You will be exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue, and may be at risk for communicable diseases. The physical demands of this role include heavy work, requiring the ability to exert 50-100 pounds of force occasionally and 25-50 pounds of force frequently.
