Overview: The primary role of a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor is to develop, execute, and sustain long-term strategies for enhancing maintenance operations while providing technical support to the manufacturing teams involved.
A typical Manufacturing Operations Supervisor is accountable for the efficient utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment to support key operational initiatives.Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and actively engage in corporate safety protocols, initiatives, and workplace cleanliness standards.
- Identify equipment failures, ascertain root causes, and implement immediate and long-term solutions.
- Assist the facility in meeting Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost objectives.
- Oversee construction and maintenance projects.
- Support the execution of divisional and corporate policies.
- Ensure adherence to scheduling and quality standards.
- Enforce safety and cleanliness practices.
- Mentor, develop, and assess team members.
- Adhere to Local and National Labor agreements while supporting divisional and corporate guidelines.
- Initiate collaboration with internal and external teams as necessary to resolve issues.
- Execute planned maintenance tasks.
- Complete assignments within budgetary, client, and time constraints.
- Assist the facility in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost objectives.
- Oversee construction and maintenance projects.
- Ensure adherence to scheduling and quality standards.
Required Skills:
- Willingness to work any assigned shift, including daily, weekend, and holiday overtime as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering schematics.
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
- Experience in machinery, assembly, and/or facility operations.
- Knowledge of maintaining a safe industrial work environment.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics, including trigonometry.
- Experience in clerical tasks, data collection, and machine analysis.
- Experience supervising a multi-skilled workforce.
- Strong understanding of tooling, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
- Completion of behavior-based competency assessments that evaluate learning ability, adaptability, initiative, decision-making, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- High analytical skills to address complex problems.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with others, motivate teams, and drive results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with email communication tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrating strong teamwork skills.
- Capacity to partner with senior management to analyze and resolve issues.
- Aptitude for managing multiple projects concurrently.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
- Training in skilled trades or equivalent technical education.
