A reputable building materials firm is seeking a talented Structural Truss Engineer to become a vital part of their expanding workforce.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops floor and roof truss placement schematics, design illustrations, and truss estimates by leveraging the ability to interpret blueprints and client specifications for various projects.
  • Establishes design criteria based on architectural plans and structural requirements.
  • Evaluates the work of fellow designers as part of a verification process to minimize design inaccuracies before submitting documentation for production.
  • Generates shop documentation that is streamlined and organized for efficiency in accordance with manufacturing equipment.
  • Engages with clients and sales personnel regarding technical elements of plans that necessitate clarification from clients, architects, or engineers. Records communications with these parties using spreadsheets and archived emails.
  • Adheres to Building Codes to guarantee the safety of designs while complying with industry regulations.
  • Employs advanced mathematical skills for calculating dimensions, weights, angles, and possesses technical expertise in CAD software and related applications.
  • Maintains communication with clients throughout the design phase.
  • Consults with seasoned component technicians and management when deeper analysis is necessary.
  • Organizes and manages personal work efficiency to achieve daily, weekly, project, or team productivity targets.
  • Recognizes and follows all safety protocols to prevent injuries to oneself or colleagues; participates in regular safety meetings as required; suggests improvements to enhance safety measures.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2-3+ years of experience in Truss Design and Drafting within the Construction and Building sector.
  • Highly skilled in MiTek software.
  • Minimum educational requirement of a High School Diploma or GED.
