About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our team at Ardagh Group. As a key member of our Electrical Engineering Center of Excellence, you will provide technical expertise and leadership in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for our glass packaging facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement electrical design solutions for Ardagh Glass Packaging plants, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Supervise capital projects and collaborate with contractors and other engineers to ensure successful field installations.
  • Support and troubleshoot issues with control systems, including PLC programming and interface systems.
  • Leverage subject matter expertise to contribute to the development of electrical engineering best practices and standards.
  • Prepare conceptual drawings, budgetary project estimates, and capital approval requests for management review.
  • Develop project scope definitions, materials and labor cost estimates, and competitive bidding documents for equipment and contract work.
  • Assist and lead in the identification and recommendation of purchase, modification, and improvement of specialty processing equipment with a focus on PLC controls.
  • Work closely with plant teams to develop scopes for electrical engineering-related projects.
  • Provide operational support and troubleshooting for ongoing issues that plant teams cannot manage.
  • Collaborate and support plant maintenance teams with respect to preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Train plant operations and maintenance teams on the operation and troubleshooting of electrical systems in glass bottle manufacturing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including construction and project management experience.
  • Significant experience with transformer control wiring, especially in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive experience working with development of power transformer systems or related technologies.
  • Knowledge of electrical design and safety standards for industrial machinery - IEC, IEEE, NEMA, CE, UL.
  • Ability to design and render working drawings for a variety of manufacturing processes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in planning and organization.
  • Detail-oriented and able to identify problems and make recommendations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive experience working with development of power transformer systems or related technologies.
  • Prior experience in glass container process equipment and production.
  • Prior experience with preventive and/or predictive maintenance programs and CMMS.
  • Servant leader mindset while supporting engineering and plant teams.
