Job Summary

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach courses in Business Network Administration & Network Engineering Technology/PC Support & Administration. The successful candidate will have a strong background in networking and IT support, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement.
  • Prepare all course materials and lessons, including topical outlines and standardized syllabus.
  • Provide clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines to students.
  • Design and administer examinations to assess achievement of course objectives.
  • Complete grade books, final grade sheets, learning assessments, and final exam assessments on a timely basis.
  • Maintain a paper or electronic record of each student's progress.
  • Facilitate meaningful learning of the course competencies in the curriculum.
  • Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Networking, IT Support, or related field, or Associate's Degree and equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years industry or business experience in the teaching subject area.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to act effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to interact successfully with academic as well as business and regulatory personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Networking Business, or related field.
  • Previous teaching experience in an academic environment.
  • 5 years' industry or business applied experience in the teaching subject area.
  • Experience with on-line teaching and/or instruction in higher education.

Position available: Varies by semester. Compensation: $660 per lecture hour for new adjuncts. Contractual Affiliation: N/A. Exempt Classification: Non-Exempt. Status: Part time.
