Position Overview

Riverside Medical Center is seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN to join our dynamic Emergency Department team. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (may be waived based on extensive experience).
Job Details
  • Position: ER RN 15019
  • Trauma Level: Stroke and Stemi receiving; Level 2 for adults and pediatrics.
  • Facility Capacity: 35 beds with 2 trauma bays.
  • Common Cases: A diverse range including GSW, violent crimes, strokes, stemi, mental health issues, and pediatric cases (respiratory illnesses, fractures).
  • Staffing: Utilization of both ED Physicians and Mid-Level providers, with a typical maximum of 2 MDs and 3 Mid-level providers during peak times.
  • Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:04.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year recent experience in the specialty; first-time travel nurses may be considered with over one year of total ER experience.
Job Requirements
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC; TNCC may be waived for extensive ER experience.
  • Triage Experience: Familiarity with the ESI triage algorithm is required.
  • Pediatric Experience: Preferred.
Scheduling Information
  • Shifts: Various start times from 5 AM to 9 PM for 12-hour shifts, with scheduling managed by the department head to accommodate blocks.
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.
  • Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday.
Unit Specific Information
  • Emergency Room Details: 35 beds and 2 trauma bays, including a Fast Track area (8 beds) and a separate triage zone.
  • Staffing: ER nurses also manage separate psych/seclusion rooms, with in-house security during peak times.
  • Patient Volume: Approximately 111 patients treated daily.
  • Critical Care: Common critical care drips are utilized.
  • Support Staff: Charge Nurse and Team Lead available 24/7, with assistance from nurse aids, LPNs, techs, and paramedics for various tasks.
  • Respiratory Support: Respiratory Therapists respond to all codes and cover respiratory tasks.
  • Transport: X-Ray and CT facilities are adjacent, with transport personnel available during specific hours.

  • Local Candidates: Candidates within a 20-50 mile radius will be considered.
  • Orientation: Department-specific orientation consists of one 12-hour shift.
  • Uniform: Caribbean Blue Scrubs are required.
