Mechanic I Position

At Continental Tide, we are seeking a skilled Mechanic I to join our Fleet Services Group. The successful candidate will perform various ship repair, modernization, and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) projects.
The ideal candidate will have experience in repairing, modifying, and overhauling equipment and machinery common to maritime vessels and/or general industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing repairs, modifications, and overhauls on various types of equipment and machinery.
- Perform operational tests on installed equipment and systems.
- Apply knowledge of production and processes toward completion of assignments.
- Familiar experience with troubleshooting techniques of machinery and equipment.
- Report to and brief supervisor and management on task status.
Requirements:
- High school, trade, or vocational school degree.
- 0-5 years of experience in Cableway, Fire watch, CP, Respiratory protection.
- Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings, installation specifications, and NAVSEA Standard Items.
- Able to read and comprehend engineering and electrical schematics.
- Must have or have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes.
- Ability to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions, and in confined spaces.

Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States. Due to export control regulations, this role is open to U.S. citizens only.
