Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Direct day-to-day coordination of Gilbane's trade contractors and sub-contractors to ensure high-quality work meeting approved project schedules
  • Financial Management: Manage project budgets for general conditions and site services
  • Documentation and Communication: Develop, document, and communicate work plans regarding changes made in the field
  • Contract Understanding: Maintain thorough knowledge of contract documents to anticipate potential problems
  • Safety Compliance: Act as primary safety representative, enforcing safety compliance with all trades
  • Team Development: Establish credibility among owners, trade contractors, unions, and project partners by maintaining fair and trustworthy environments
  • Jurisdictional Disputes: Resolve disputes with support from Sr General Superintendent or Construction Executive
  • Meetings and Reporting: Lead contractor meetings, maintain daily reports, and document using software tools
  • Schedule Management: Create, manage, and update project schedules, implementing contingency plans when necessary
  • Job Site Logistics: Plan, coordinate, and manage job site logistics
  • Quality Control: Develop Quality in Construction (QIC) plan with Operations Excellence team, overseeing implementation
  • Maintenance and Training: Train direct report Field Engineers and Superintendents on project needs, construction knowledge, and business acumen
  • Preconstruction Planning: Participate in development, preplanning, and preconstruction to write scopes of work and participate in buyout
  • T&M Tracking: Administer Time and Materials tracking
  • Community Engagement: Engage in local market growth and foster relationships
  • Performance Management: Manage workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with company standards
  • Culture Fostering: Promote positive and inclusive work environments to motivate and engage team members
  • Strategy Communication: Aid in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports
  • Task Assistance: Assist with tasks typically assigned to junior positions

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 10-15 years of experience leading $50M-$100M+ K-12 construction projects
  • OSHA 30-hour certified
  • STS-C Certification
  • First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to participate in sales process, interviews, and presentations
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other industry-standard construction software tools
  • Construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction
  • Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control
  • Familiarity with Pull Planning Process
  • Strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce project safety plan
