Position Overview:

The role involves overseeing the design, assessment, and implementation of efficient engineering solutions for a pharmaceutical production environment. This encompasses all stages of project expenditures, including initial concept development, justification, management presentations, impact analysis preparation, budget oversight, project timeline formulation and management, detailed design, specification creation (Design/Functional/System), and vendor/contractor scope definitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the planning and execution of capital projects associated with measurement systems, taking ownership of projects related to metrology assets.
  2. Assist in managing shutdown schedules and meetings pertinent to metrology operations.
  3. Contribute to the preparation and oversight of critical calibration contracts.
  4. Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on data analysis, technical expertise, engineering principles, and current industry standards.
  5. Collaborate effectively within an engineering team and across a broader engineering network.
  6. Establish and manage project schedules, critical path activities, status updates, and resource planning to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion.
  7. Facilitate the preparation and approval of expenditure proposals for metrology projects and asset repairs, ensuring comprehensive documentation for bid packages and contracts.
  8. Communicate project objectives, specifications, deliverables, timelines, and tasks clearly to team members, fostering motivation and understanding.
  9. Adhere to risk management methodologies throughout project execution.
  10. Identify potential issues that could impede project deliverables and propose appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  11. Engage with other CSL sites and industry peers to ensure best practices in processes, equipment, and personnel.
  12. Participate in audits conducted by regulatory agencies.
  13. Ensure compliance of all contractors with CSL safety standards.
  14. Provide regular project updates to senior management and functional leaders to align on project milestones.
  15. Work closely with site operations and quality management to prioritize production impacts related to project deliverables.
  16. Foster a positive and equitable work environment that reflects CSL's core values: Customer Focus, Innovation, Integrity, Collaboration, and Superior Performance.
  17. Comply with CSL Behring's safety program requirements, including health and safety mandates.
  18. Stay informed about best practices and technologies in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  19. Perform any additional duties as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector with substantial project management experience is desirable.

Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of metrology equipment maintenance and calibration practices is essential.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage projects and coordinate contractor activities.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and procedures, risk management methodologies, and contract management.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean principles is advantageous.
  • Strong collaborative skills in a matrix management environment.
  • Proficiency in MS-Project, MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, MS-Visio, Power BI, SAP, and MS-Outlook.
  • Understanding of GxP principles.
