Your Role
- Maintain a secure workplace and foster a culture centered on safety in both Personal and Process Safety.
- Facilitate daily planning meetings for craft teams and ensure that contractor firms conduct thorough safety briefings.
- Conduct well-structured safety engagements with the team, ensuring that discussions are interactive and pertinent.
- Identify and address safety concerns related to workplace equipment or facilities, ensuring proper management of these issues.
- Verify that both Shell and contractor teams possess the necessary skills and qualifications to perform assigned tasks safely.
- Review Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and work permits for precision and quality, acknowledging excellence and addressing any shortcomings with contract management.
- Proactively manage daily challenges that affect the crafts' ability to complete their tasks, including equipment availability and operational readiness.
- Distribute tasks effectively to enhance team productivity while ensuring high-quality outcomes, utilizing both Shell and contractor resources.
- Maintain ongoing communication—face-to-face, verbal (radio/phone)—with Shell and contractor teams, including third-party services, throughout the workday to ensure smooth progress.
- Coordinate all work activities with field presence to ensure high effectiveness while eliminating obstacles.
- Encourage and implement suggestions for improvement from the team.
- Ensure that all crafts, both Shell and contractor, are equipped and qualified to execute the assigned work.
- Guarantee that work scope is completed in accordance with Shell Standards and relevant Site Orders.
- Clarify the scope of work for crafts and address any questions before they proceed to the work site.
- Recognize outstanding performance and address any underperformance effectively.
- In cases where deviations from Standards or Site Orders are necessary, escalate the matter within Maintenance leadership.
- Ensure that initial job starts meet expectations, auditing job sites for safety and providing immediate support to crafts if delays occur.
- Provide updates to the Scheduler and align on the execution schedule for the next day.
- Confirm scheduled dates with third-party vendors.
- Review schedules to ensure that feasible scopes and plans are in place for efficient delivery.
- Confirm craft availability for scheduled work and communicate any changes to the plan.
- Must possess legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a craft role related to projects or maintenance within an oil refining or petrochemical manufacturing setting.
- Preferred 3 years of direct field experience as a construction coordinator or technical/craft experience (e.g., pipefitter, welder, rigger).
- Experience in leading collaborative work planning sessions is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with confidence in engaging stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze details, identify issues, and implement changes effectively.
The base salary range for this position is $84,000 - $126,000 per year. Individual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
Regular full-time or part-time employees of the Company are eligible for comprehensive insurance coverage options, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and more. Employees also participate in a pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of vacation, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave of 16 weeks for birthing mothers and 8 weeks for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees may qualify for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at full or partial pay. Shell offers various compensation options, including financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal development expenses.
