Job Summary

The Lead Portfolio Investment Analyst is a key member of the Investment and Trading Solutions group, reporting directly to the Global Trading team. This role requires a high level of expertise in fixed income modeling, trade allocations, and cash flow management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with portfolio managers to develop and implement investment strategies, ensuring alignment with client objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Assume coverage for specific investment strategies, providing thought leadership and escalation support as needed.
  • Collaborate with analysts, portfolio managers, traders, compliance, and legal teams to coordinate portfolio and security transactions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and promote best practices within the team, reducing risk and enhancing client outcomes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on fixed income modeling, providing guidance to various functions and groups within the firm.
  • Manage relationships with trading and portfolio managers, ensuring accurate and timely communication of changes across the trading division.
  • Utilize internal systems for portfolio management and trade modeling, monitoring analytics and generating accurate orders through the trade cycle.
  • Determine interest rate and currency hedging information, and other related daily portfolio functions specific to the desk assigned.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on complex modeling issues.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field, preferably at T. Rowe Price or a similar organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Math.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with securitized fixed income instruments, advanced degrees, or professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CAIA.
  • Strong analytical skills, proficiency in programming languages (R or Python), and a data-driven mindset.
  • Knowledge of investments, portfolios, and financial markets, as well as fixed income markets and instruments, including derivatives.
  • Ability to quickly process information, draw relevant conclusions, and clearly summarize results.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills.
