Job Summary
The Senior Field Engineer is a key member of our team, responsible for supporting and managing operations in the field. This role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to interface with craft supervision, owners, vendors, subcontractors, and project team members. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of construction drawings and specifications, as well as experience with Hard Dollar and SAP systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in estimate turnover meetings and assist in converting estimates to controlled budgets
  • Coordinate and review submittals, and manage quantities and perform quantity takeoffs as required
  • Procure and schedule subcontractors and materials to ensure crews' needs are met
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers with the support of staff, superintendents, and foremen
  • Assist in work plan development and monitoring with project engineers, superintendents, and foremen
  • Manage quantity and cost reporting, and report results to superintendents and foremen
  • Assist with change order pricing and participate in the project document control process
  • Maintain accurate records of project drawings and specifications, and participate in the project close-out process
  • Finalize cost report quantities used for payment applications and project reports
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of As-Built drawings

Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain airport security clearance
  • 3-5 years' recent heavy highway, road, and bridge construction experience, with a prior internship with a heavy civil contractor preferred
  • Medium to large project experience ($10M+) is required
  • Experience in supporting multiple disciplines related to heavy civil projects
  • Experience with Hard Dollar and SAP systems preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong leadership skills, problem-solving and analytical skills, prioritization and organizational skills, and detail-oriented
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs, such as Excel and Word
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
