Job Overview

This role involves leading the perioperative team to ensure safe patient care and efficient operation management. The Director of Surgical Services will have 24/7 responsibility for their department.

Responsibilities
  • You will identify and address problems affecting service delivery and implement solutions with effective communication.
  • You will participate in committee meetings to provide ongoing representation and maintain open communication channels.
  • You will enhance the customer experience in Surgical Services.
  • You will coach subordinates through feedback, performance documentation, and individual development planning.
  • You will uphold all HR policies.
  • You will effectively disseminate departmental, organizational, and industry information to staff.
  • You will facilitate employee engagement strategies based on evidence.
  • You will establish strong relationships and networks to drive organizational and departmental goals.
  • You will engage in employee and patient rounding to identify potential future leaders.
  • You will ensure compliance with surgical service standards and develop metrics to monitor consistency.
  • You will create, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive surgical services program aligning with the Hospital mission.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.
  • A Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
  • Three+ years of experience in a leadership role is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice is required, in accordance with law and regulation.
  • Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) certification is preferred.
  • Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) certification is preferred.
Compensation Package

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $110,000-$140,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
