Job Summary:

The Bartender is a key member of the Hyatt House Parsippany-East team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and ensuring the smooth operation of the lounge/bar area. This role requires a unique blend of hospitality skills, beverage knowledge, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Provide prompt and courteous service to guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, including cocktails, wine, and beer, to exacting standards.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and serve appetizers and food items according to recipes and standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels of liquor, food supplies, and equipment, ordering or requisitioning supplies as needed.
  • Cash Handling: Handle cash, prepare and deposit cash drops, and secure and balance bank.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless service and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, responding to changing customer needs and priorities.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Three to six months related experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification: Must comply with State regulations.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, developing alternative solutions and using reason.
  • Customer Service: Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations, responding promptly to customer needs and requests for service and assistance.
  • Professionalism: Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, treating others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
  • Knowledge and Compliance: Knowledge of and ability to appropriately interpret and follow policies and procedures, as well as safety and security procedures.
