Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Intelligence Operations Section as a Strategic Intelligence Operations Manager. This role will be responsible for formulating and implementing critical Homeland Security policies and procedures associated with Intelligence Operations for the State of Illinois.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage the day-to-day operations of the Intelligence Operations Section.
  • Develop and foster a culture of inclusion, excellence, and mutual support in the Intelligence Operations Section.
  • Oversee and coordinate policy development and implementation associated with unified statewide strategies associated with Intelligence Operations.
  • Provide regular briefings and serve as representative of the Section.
  • Prepare budgets and strategic plans for the Intelligence Operations Section.
  • Serve as a full-line supervisor, assigning and reviewing work, providing guidance and training to assigned staff, and establishing annual goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
  • Overtime is a condition of employment.
  • Requires a criminal history check through the Illinois State Police.
  • Requires the ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
